Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i bought this notebook from a private party and when i attempt to access the bios, it asks for a password. ive contacted hp by phone but the lady said i would have to send it in and have the  MOTHERBOARD REPLACED???!!!  What kind of crap is that? Someone please tell me she is wrong and know of a solution other than board replacement. it is out of warranty
