Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had this laptop for about a year, and it has always had bit locker and been encrypted.

but I went to settings to check it today and it wasn't there anymore, no settings for it at all.

I had to turn it off a while ago because of an error where i had to put in my bit key every time i booted up the computer.

now windows has updated I was hoping to turn it back on again, to see if it would work properly but the options are no longer there. nothing in settings or the control panel, it is registered in Services.msc though.

i am running windows 10 home. which other sites say bitlocker isn't a part of. However I definitely had it. and on the hp page it says all hp products come with it regardless of operating system.

any ideas?

Thanks in advance
