Microsoft Windows 11

After updating to windows 11 from Windows 10 Bluetooth is not working. When I use the device manger to update Bluetooth drives I cant see Bluetooth drivers in "others" But when I type " services .msc "  into search I see  that  Bluetooth Services is set to automatic.  My laptop is a HP EliteBook Folio 9470m, the official HP site does not recognise my laptop serial number and offers no Bluetooth drives updates please help

There are no W11 drivers for your notebook.

What model Wi-Fi adapter does your notebook come with?

You'll have to reinstall the W10 driver, but if there is no driver for it, I need to know the model of the Wi-Fi adapter, because the W10 driver is out there somewhere.

Thanks for the reply. Do I have to find the drive physically, or is there a way for the LT to identify it?

You're very welcome.

The model of the Wi-Fi adapter can be found by going to the device manager, click to expand the Network adapters device manager category.

It should be an Intel Wi-Fi adapter, but I don't know what model.

It could be a 6235, or a 7260 and they use different BT drivers.

There are 2 Intel devices when I expand Network adaters       Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection

Intel(R) Centrino (R) advanced-N 6235

There are also 8 marked Wan Miniport in this section

The 8 marked Wan Miniports are a normal entry.

In the device manager, there should be an Unknown device listed.

That would be the Intel Bluetooth adapter in need of a driver.

It should have a hardware ID of USB\VID_8087&PID_07DA.

You can use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device.

How to Find Drivers for Unknown Devices in the Device Manager

The only driver for that device is found on the Microsoft Update Catalog website.

I have zipped up and attached that driver below.

You will have to manually install the driver as there is no executable file.

Download and unzip the file to its folder.

Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

To manually install the driver, go to the device manager.

Click on the unknown device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.

Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option, and browse to the driver folder that you unzipped.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked, and hopefully the driver will install and the BT will work on W11.
