Hi @Jackim80, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like Zoom Workplace might be interfering with your camera's resolution or cropping the image. Try these steps to fix it:
Check Zoom Workplace Camera Settings
- Open Zoom Workplace.
- Go to Settings (gear icon).
- Navigate to Video and check the Camera Preview.
- Look for any cropping, resolution, or aspect ratio settings that may be affecting the view.
Test Camera in Another App
- Open the Camera app in Windows (Press Win + S, type Camera, and open it).
- If the Camera app also shows a partial view, the issue is system-wide.
- If the Camera app works fine, the issue is specific to Zoom Workplace.
Update Camera Drivers
- Press Win + X → Device Manager.
- Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
- Right-click your camera and select Update Driver → Search automatically.
- Restart your laptop and check if the issue persists.
Reinstall the Camera Driver
- In Device Manager, right-click the camera and choose Uninstall Device.
- Restart your laptop; Windows will reinstall the camera driver automatically.
Check Zoom Workplace Permissions
- Press Win + I → Privacy & security → Camera.
- Ensure Zoom Workplace has access to the camera.
Try an External Camera
- If available, connect an external webcam to check if it works fine in Zoom Workplace.
- If the external camera works, your laptop's built-in camera may need a firmware update or replacement.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
