Hi @saquib4

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining the issue—when your HP Pavilion x360 14-dy1000 shows a camera error and the driver is missing from Device Manager, it’s usually caused by one of the following:

  • A disabled camera via privacy settings, BIOS, or hardware switch
  • A missing or corrupted camera driver
  • A Windows update or security setting that blocked camera access

Let’s walk through a structured recovery plan to get your camera working again.

Step-by-Step Fix for Missing Camera Driver and Error

1. Check Windows Privacy Settings

Windows may be blocking camera access system-wide.

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera
  • Ensure Camera access is turned On
  • Scroll down and enable access for apps like Zoom, Teams, or Camera

2. Enable Camera in Device Manager

If the camera is hidden or disabled:

  • Press Windows + X > Device Manager
  • Click View > Show hidden devices
  • Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras
  • If listed, right-click and choose Enable device
  • If not listed, continue to step 3

3. Install or Reinstall Camera Driver

If the driver is missing, reinstall it manually.

4. Check for Physical Camera Switch or Shutter Key

Some HP models include a privacy switch or keyboard shortcut.

  • Look for a webcam shutter key on the top row of your keyboard (often F8)
  • Press Fn + F8 to toggle the camera
  • Some models have a physical switch near the webcam—slide it to uncover the lens

5. Enable Camera in BIOS

If disabled at the firmware level:

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS
  • Navigate to Advanced > Built-in Device Options
  • Ensure Integrated Camera is Enabled
  • Save and exit BIOS

If the issue persists after these steps, I can help guide you through a deeper driver cleanup. Let’s get your Pavilion x360 camera back online and ready for action.
