@sunil7725, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
We understand you are facing issue with the camera of your HP PC.
Let's get your notebook camera working again. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check for a Physical Camera Switch or Shutter
Some HP notebooks have a camera privacy switch or shutter key:
- Look for a slider near the webcam or a keyboard key (often F8 or F10) with a camera icon.
- If the shutter is closed, slide it open.
- If there's a light next to the camera, make sure it's off (light on = camera off).
Restart and Test with the Camera App
- Press Windows + S, type Camera, and open the Camera app.
- If the app shows video, your camera is working.
- If not, restart your PC and try again.
Reinstall the Camera Driver
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.
- Right-click your camera and choose Uninstall device.
- Restart your PC — Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
Update Drivers via HP Support Assistant
- Open HP Support Assistant (or download it from here - HP Support Assistant | HP® Support).
- Check for updates and install any available camera or chipset drivers.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
Use the built-in tool to test the camera:
- Press Esc repeatedly at startup > press F2 for diagnostics.
- Run the Component Tests > Webcam Test.
