Hi @Rodney1958,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Notebook 14's camera isn't working, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check if the Camera is Disabled:

  • Press the Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Imaging Devices section. If you see your camera listed, right-click it and select Enable if it’s disabled.

Check Camera Privacy Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
  • Ensure that Camera access for this device is turned on.
  • Check that apps are allowed to use the camera by scrolling down to Allow apps to access your camera.

Update Camera Drivers:

  • In Device Manager, right-click your camera under Imaging Devices and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for updates.

Restart the Laptop:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can help fix the issue if the camera isn't working properly.

Check the Camera Application:

  • Open the Camera app (search for it in the Start menu).
  • If it doesn’t work, it could be related to the app permissions or settings.

Reinstall the Camera Driver:

  • In Device Manager, right-click your camera and choose Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop. Windows will attempt to reinstall the camera driver automatically.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
