@gdad4125, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're looking for a simple way to reverse or flip the camera on your HP laptop running Windows 11, and you're wondering if this can be done without installing a third-party app. I’m happy to help clarify this for you.

Reversing or Flipping the Camera View

Most built-in laptop cameras do not include a native "flip" or "mirror" option in Windows Camera app. However, there are a few ways you can achieve this:

Option 1: Check Camera App Settings

  1. Open the Camera app from the Start menu.
  2. Look for a “Flip” or “Mirror” icon (usually a circular arrow or two arrows pointing left and right).
    • If available, clicking this will reverse the image.
    • Unfortunately, not all versions of the Camera app or drivers support this feature.

Option 2: Use HP Camera Driver Settings (if available)

Some HP laptops come with camera drivers that include advanced settings:

  1. Press Windows + S, type Device Manager, and open it.
  2. Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  3. Right-click your camera (e.g., HP TrueVision HD) and select Properties.
  4. Go to the Driver or Advanced tab (if available).
  5. Look for any options related to Image Orientation, Flip, or Mirror.

If these options are not visible, your camera driver may not support this natively.

Option 3: Use HP Support Software

Some HP utilities like HP Support Assistant may offer camera enhancements or updates:

Option 4: Use a Third-Party App (Optional)

If none of the above options work, apps like OBS Studio or ManyCam allow you to flip the camera view easily and are widely used for video calls and streaming.

Update Your Camera Driver

Sometimes, updating your camera driver can unlock additional features:

  1. Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads.
  2. Enter your laptop model.
  3. Download and install the latest Camera or Imaging drivers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
