@Susan7674, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Scanner Connection Issues for HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 on Windows 11!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 All-in-One printer is able to print but not scan after upgrading to Windows 11, you can try the following solutions to resolve the scanner connection issues.

1. Update Printer Drivers:

  • Download and install the latest drivers from the HP Support website. Ensure you select Windows 11 as the operating system.

2. Restart HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This tool can help identify and fix any issues with your scanner.

3. Restart Windows Imaging Acquisition (WIA) Service:

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter.
  • Scroll down and find the Windows Imaging Acquisition (WIA) service.
  • Right-click on it and select Restart.

4. Check for Windows Updates:

  • Sometimes, general Windows updates can also resolve device compatibility issues.
  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and ensure your system is up-to-date.

5. Reinstall the Printer:

  • Remove the printer from Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Re-add the printer through the same Printers & scanners settings.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
