Hi @MoChic1

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing that—it’s definitely frustrating when updates won’t install, especially when you’re trying to keep your system running smoothly. Let’s walk through a few steps that can help get things back on track:

1. Check Internet Connection

  • Use a wired connection if possible for stability.
  • Avoid VPNs or proxy networks during updates.

🔄 2. Restart Your Computer

  • Restart after uninstalling any update tools or drivers to clear cached processes.

🧰 3. Reinstall HP Support Assistant

  • Uninstall the current version via Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  • Restart your PC.
  • Download the latest version from the HP Support Assistant page and reinstall.

🧪 4. Run Windows Update Thoroughly

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates.
  • Install any listed driver updates or firmware patches.

🔧 5. Use Device Manager

  • Right-click Start > Device Manager.
  • Expand categories like Display adapters, Network adapters, etc.
  • Right-click each device > Update driver > Search automatically.

💾 6. Download Drivers Manually

  • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads.
  • Enter your laptop’s model number.
  • Download and install:
    • Chipset drivers
    • Graphics drivers
    • Audio drivers
    • BIOS updates

🔐 7. Temporarily Disable Antivirus/Firewall

  • Turn off third-party security software.
  • Retry updates, then re-enable protection afterward.

🧠 8. Check System Compatibility

  • Confirm your device is listed as compatible with Windows 11 on HP’s support site.
  • If not, some updates may be limited to Windows 10 versions.

🧼 9. Clear Temporary Files

  • Press Windows + R, type cleanmgr, and run Disk Cleanup.
  • Select Temporary files, Windows Update Cleanup, and System cache.

🧰 10. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

  • Download from the HP Diagnostics page.
  • Run a System Test to check for hardware issues that may block updates.

Let me know which step you’re on or what happens after reinstalling the Support Assistant. We’ll get those updates flowing again! 💪💻
