i just purchased new pc and have photos on external device but after plugging it into usb port i can not find where it is located on pc to get to the pictures

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

 

Plug the USB cable from the external hard drive into an open USB port on the side of your computer. The hard drive appears as a removable disk on the desktop. Open-File Explorer. Double-click the "Removable Disk" icon to access the files on the hard drive Or perform windows key + E to open File explorer
