No to worry, this seems like a Windows operating system issue. I suggest you to perform a Windows refresh (repair). Though this link provides steps for Win8, it ca be used for Win10 too.
The Refresh option is primarily a repair method - a way to return your computer to a known good state.
The following list shows what happens when you refresh your computer:
-
Your files and personalization settings such as libraries, user accounts, and desktop themes are saved.
-
The computer settings are returned to the defaults.
-
Apps from the Windows store are reinstalled, and the settings are reset to their defaults. Internet connectivity is not required to reinstall these apps.
-
Desktop apps are removed unless they were installed by the computer manufacturer. At the end of the refresh process, an HTML file called Removed Apps.html is placed on the desktop with a list of the desktop apps that were removed.
So let me know what happens post the refresh is completed. All the best!

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP ENVY x360 - 15-aq100nx laptop and you get the message (as displayed in the image) whenever you type something in the search box.
To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Does the laptop give anther suggestion when it is connected to the internet or does it give same information?
Secondly, I did some research and would like to share the inputs. It might help.
- Click on the magnifier icon/Cortana next to the Windows start button. The below menu appears.
- Click on the settings gear.
- Turn on "Search online and include web results" option.
If the issue persists then ensure that the laptop is connected to the internet and then try again.
I hope this helps. Let me know what happens. All the best! 🙂

You're welcome. 🙂

If none of the settings open then it could be an issue with the operating system. I suggest you to perform a Windows refresh (repair). This can be useful to recover from a problem. The Refresh option is primarily a repair method - a way to return your computer to a known good state.

NOTE: Though the link is for Win8, the steps will work for win10 too.
Post a successful refresh, I hope it works. Let me know. Good luck! 🙂

You're most welcome. 🙂
I must say that technical solutions can only be provided. But it was you who performed them to perfection.
The original apps which came preinstalled with the Windows 10 operating system will get installed by default once you perform a system recovery. However, if you do need some apps then they can later be uninstalled through the Control Panel in Windows.
It's been a privilege to assist you over this platform. Thanks again!
