I HAVE A RECURRING PROBLEM FOR A FEW DAYS. MY CAPS LOCK SWITCHES AUTOMATICALLY WHEN I CLICK B OR N AND I CAN'T TURN IT ON/OFF WITH THE NORMAL CAPS LOCK KEY. I HAVE TRIED ALL THE GUIDES SUCH AS ADVANCED KEYBOARD SETTINGS, ON-SCREEN KEYBOARD OR SYSTEM SCAN IN CMD TO FIND CORRUPT SYSTEM FILES AND NOTHING HELPS. I PULLED THE KEY TO CLEAN IT. IT DID NOT HELP. I REPAIRED THE SYSTEM BY SHIFT + RESTART AND BY THE WINDOWS PENDRIVE INSTALLER. PLEASE HELP, IT'S NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE KEYBOARD BECAUSE I HAD THE SAME SITUATION 2 MONTHS AGO AND UNINSTALLING THE LAST UPDATE HELPED, FOR NOW IT DID NOT HELPED, I ACTIVATED THE PROGRAM TO SEE IF THIS BUTTON IS DETECTABLE AND IT IS POSITIVE. WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS?

Hi @sigma1337,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your keyboard is experiencing a peculiar issue where pressing certain keys (B or N) triggers unexpected behavior like switching the Caps Lock state. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and possibly resolve this issue:

Steps to Troubleshoot Keyboard Caps Lock Issue:

Check Keyboard Settings:

  • Ensure that the Caps Lock key functions correctly in other applications or areas of your computer. Sometimes, specific applications or settings can affect keyboard behavior.

Keyboard Cleaning:

  • Clean your keyboard thoroughly, especially around the B and N keys. Dust and debris can sometimes cause keys to stick or trigger unintended actions.

Keyboard Layout Settings:

  • Verify your keyboard layout settings in your operating system's control panel or system preferences. Ensure that the correct language and keyboard layout are selected.

Update Keyboard Drivers:

  • Update your keyboard drivers to the latest version available from your computer manufacturer's website or the keyboard manufacturer's website.

Test External Keyboard (if applicable):

  • If you are using an external keyboard, try using a different keyboard to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the keyboard itself or your computer's settings.

Check for Software Interference:

  • Sometimes, third-party software or utilities can interfere with keyboard functionality. Try restarting your computer in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If not, it may indicate a software conflict.

Reset Keyboard Preferences:

  • Reset your keyboard preferences to default settings in your operating system's control panel or system preferences.

Hardware Check:

  • If the issue persists after trying these steps, it could indicate a hardware problem with your keyboard. Consider consulting with a technician or replacing the keyboard if it continues to malfunction.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
