can someone tell the correct way to change the cmos battery on my hp15 laptop, i replaced the main battery on the laptop now i am getting a message that the cmos has the restart computer to get the right date and time, also the computer won,t boot unless i have the ac adapter plugged in to the laptop, i just don,t want to lose any configrations by removing cmos batterythe wrong way,

Your notebook does not have a CMOS/RTC battery.

 

The main battery also serves as the CMOS/RTC battery which maintains the BIOS and system clock settings.

Chapter 3 has no CMOS/RTC battery part number.

 

Chapter 5 has no CMOS/RTC battery removal and replacement procedure.

          I calibrated the battery , getting message still that cmos needs to restart to correct date and time , also won,t start up without ac adapter plugged in . Battery shows fully charged.
