Hi @Aditya218

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That definitely sounds annoying—especially when everything else is working fine and just one app refuses to close. Let’s try a few HP- and Microsoft-recommended steps to get that stubborn close button responding again:

🧹 Step 1: Reset the Microsoft Store App

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  2. Scroll to Microsoft Store, click the three dots, then choose Advanced options.
  3. Click Reset. This won’t delete your apps, but it will refresh the Store’s settings.

🛠 Step 2: Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter

  1. Open Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  2. Scroll down to Windows Store Apps and click Run.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and fix issues.

🧼 Step 3: Clear the Store Cache

  1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.
  3. A blank Command Prompt window will appear—wait a few seconds, and the Store will reopen automatically.

🧪 Step 4: Check for App-Specific Issues

If the issue is only with Microsoft Office:

  • Try opening Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), find the Office app under Processes, and click End Task.
  • Then relaunch the app and see if the close button responds.

If the problem continues, I can help you reinstall the Office app or check for system file issues. You're doing great by reaching out—let’s get this sorted together.
