Hi @alfred110,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Are you trying to sign in to Microsoft Word with your Microsoft account password, or is this a local Windows password?
  • When you mention the “time clock,” do you mean the system date and time on your HP Victus laptop, or a clock feature inside Word itself?
  • Have you recently replaced any hardware components (like the motherboard or battery), which might affect the serial number recognition?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check System Date & Time Settings
    • Right-click the clock on your taskbar → select Adjust date/time.
    • Ensure “Set time automatically” and “Set time zone automatically” are turned on.
    • If the time keeps resetting, the CMOS battery inside the laptop may need replacement.
  2. Microsoft Account Password Reset
  3. Verify HP Serial Number
    • On your laptop, press Fn + Esc to open the HP System Information window.
    • Confirm the serial number displayed there matches the one on the sticker. If they differ, please share that with us it helps us validate your warranty and support options.
  4. Update BIOS & Windows
  • Outdated BIOS or Windows settings can sometimes cause timekeeping issues.
  • Go to HP Support Assistant  and check for updates.

I hope this helps.
