I recently purchased an HP 17-cp1035cl notebook with an AMD Ryzen 5 5625 CPU. Where can I find documentation and manuals for this HP model? Do you know if this model still has space and connectors for an SSD to be installed? Thanks

Hi:
HP only has the service manual for the older 17-cp0xxx model series on your notebook' support page.
HP 17 Laptop PC 17-cp1000 Manuals | HP® Customer Support
According to chapter 1 of the manual there is an available M.2 slot that supports NVMe SSD's.

You're very welcome.
According to the product specs your notebook came with a 2.5" mechanical hard drive not a SSD.

Amazon changed this default configuration of the cp1035cl laptop (nvme 1tb and 32 gig memory), I bought the laptop last week 😉
Through HWinfo64 I discovered that there is indeed a place for an additional SDD. Unfortunately the documentation for this laptop is pretty poor or absent. Thank you

You're very welcome.
The service manual on the support page, even though it is for the previous model series, clearly indicates that there is just one M.2 slot.
Look at the motherboard illustration in chapter 5 on pages 44 or 46.
It shows the location of the single M.2 SSD on the opposite side of where the 2.5" drive is.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
If HP did not redesign the motherboard layout in the 17-cp1xxx model series, I recommend that you check before buying another M.2 SSD.
I wish I had a dollar for every post I have read where someone has used a utility to confirm things like two memory slots and whatnot, only to find one.
Sometimes they give false reports.
