Hi @RobinDeeBanks,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're unable to add a game shortcut to your desktop on your HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 running Windows 11. Here are a few ways to fix or work around the issue:

Method 1: Create a Shortcut Manually

  1. Open File Explorer and navigate to the folder where the game is installed (e.g., C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86)).
  2. Find the game’s .exe file (application file).
  3. Right-click the .exe file > choose Show more options > Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

Method 2: Drag and Drop

  1. Open the game folder.
  2. Right-click and hold the .exe file.
  3. Drag it to the desktop and release.
  4. Choose Create shortcut here.

Method 3: Use Start Menu

  1. Click Start and find the game in the app list.
  2. Right-click the game > More > Open file location.
  3. In the folder that opens, right-click the shortcut > Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

If the Right-Click Menu Is Missing or Broken

  • Press Win + I > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors.
  • Make sure right-click functionality is not disabled by any third-party customization tools.
  • Try using "Show more options" (Shift + F10) if the new context menu is limited.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

right click functions are enabled. game is not listed in the game bar. file explorer could not find under program files or x86. there is no show more option by pressing f10. drag and drop did not work. the game "yatzy" was downloaded from the microsoft store.  i have had no issue previously making a shortcut for other games downloaded the same way. thank you.
