@Mueen13, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
If your HP laptop is equipped with HP Presence Aware (also known as Human Presence Detection), but the camera or sensor doesn't appear in Device Manager or Settings, it may be managed at the firmware or BIOS level, or through Windows privacy settings. Here's how you can troubleshoot and disable it:
Check Windows Privacy Settings
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security > Presence Sensing.
- Turn off:
- Let apps use Presence Sensing
- Let desktop apps use Presence Sensing
Disable via Power Settings
- In Settings, go to System > Power & Battery > Screen and Sleep.
- Click More Options under Presence Sensing.
- Turn off:
- Automatically turn off my screen when I leave
- Automatically wake up my device when I approach
Check HP Auto Lock and Awake (if installed)
If your device uses HP Auto Lock and Awake, disable it:
- Open HP QuickDrop or HP Support Assistant and look for Auto Lock and Awake settings.
- Turn it off.
BIOS Settings (Advanced)
If the above steps don’t help, the presence sensor might be enabled in BIOS:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
- Navigate to Advanced > Built-in Device Options.
- Look for Presence Detection or IR Camera and disable it.
- Save and exit.
