Hi @Jamsheer123,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the 😧 and E: drives are not visible on your HP laptop, it could be due to a few reasons. Let’s troubleshoot step by step.
Check File Explorer
- Open File Explorer by pressing Windows + E.
- Look for the drives under "This PC" or "My Computer."
If they don’t appear:
Check Disk Management
- Press Windows + X and select Disk Management.
- Look for the missing drives in the Disk Management window.
- If you see an unallocated partition, follow these steps:
- Right-click the unallocated space and select New Simple Volume.
- Assign a drive letter (D or E) and format it.
If you don’t see the drives in Disk Management:
Check for Hidden Drives
- Open File Explorer and go to View > Options > Change Folder and Search Options.
- Under the View tab, ensure "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" is selected.
Reconnect or Enable Partitions
- If you recently created or modified partitions, a drive letter might not have been assigned.
- In Disk Management, right-click the partition and choose Change Drive Letter and Paths, then add or assign a new letter.
Verify Physical Drives
- Ensure that external or secondary hard drives are connected properly if they were mapped to D or E.
Driver or BIOS Issue
- Update Disk Drivers:
- Press Windows + X > Device Manager > expand Disk Drives.
- Right-click your drives and select Update Driver.
- Restart your laptop and check again.

Check in BIOS
If you suspect hardware is not being detected:
- Restart the laptop and press the BIOS key (often F10 or ESC) during startup.
- Check if the drives are listed in the BIOS.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
