Hi @Souvik12,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing issues with data transfer when connecting your HP Pavilion 15 laptop to another device using a data transfer cable. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
Check Cable Compatibility:
- Ensure that the data transfer cable you're using is compatible with both your HP Pavilion 15 laptop and the other device. Different devices may require specific types of cables (e.g., USB-A to USB-A, USB-A to USB-C, etc.). Using an incompatible cable could cause connectivity issues.
Try Different Ports:
- If you're connecting the devices using USB ports, try using different USB ports on your HP Pavilion 15 laptop. Sometimes, certain USB ports may have issues or may not provide enough power for data transfer.
Update Drivers:
- Make sure that the drivers for your USB ports and the other device are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause issues with data transfer. You can update drivers through the Device Manager in Windows or by visiting the HP website.
Check Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager on your HP Pavilion 15 laptop and check if there are any errors or warnings associated with the USB ports or the other device. Right-click on the Start button, select "Device Manager," and look for any devices with exclamation marks or error messages.
Try a Different Cable:
- If possible, try using a different data transfer cable to see if the issue persists. The cable itself could be faulty or damaged, leading to connectivity problems.
Reset USB Ports:
- Sometimes, resetting the USB ports on your laptop can resolve connectivity issues. You can do this by shutting down your laptop, unplugging it from power, removing the battery (if removable), and holding down the power button for 10-15 seconds. Then, reinsert the battery (if applicable), plug in the power cable, and power on your laptop.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the data transfer issues you're experiencing with your HP Pavilion 15 laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
