Hi @edicande0477,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Did this issue start after a recent Windows 11 24H2 update or driver installation?
  • Are all USB ports affected, or only specific ones?
  • Have you noticed if external devices (like a mouse, keyboard, or USB drive) are not being recognized, or is it just showing the error in Device Manager?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Uninstall and Reinstall the Driver:
    • Open Device Manager → expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
    • Right-click Intel USB 3.0 Root Hub → select Uninstall device.
    • Restart your laptop; Windows should automatically reinstall the correct driver.
  2. Update Drivers via HP Support Assistant:
    • Open HP Support Assistant and run a full update check.
    • If an updated chipset or USB driver is available, install it.
  3. Check Windows Update:
    • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.
    • Microsoft often pushes updated drivers through Windows Update.
  4. Download Drivers from HP Support Page:
  5. BIOS Update:
    • Sometimes USB issues are resolved with a BIOS update. Use HP Support Assistant or the HP Drivers page to check if a newer BIOS is available for your model.
  6. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
  • Restart your laptop and press Esc → then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the Component Test for USB devices to confirm if the hardware is functioning correctly.

I hope this helps.

Hi, I have updated the Bios, also tried to uninstall the USB root Hub 3.0 then restart the laptop, but the issue still exits. I also have run the HP Assistant on the laptop but the issue can't be found by HP Assistant.

I also have tried to find the driver from HP's driver official website but I can't find the driver USB root hub 3.0 at there. Please send the driver USB root Hub 3.0 for my laptop mode s14-cf2517TU or the specific link for download the driver.

Thanks!

Yes the issue happened after update Windows 11 24H2. Before update the Windows version there was not an issue with the USB.
