Hi @amirhosein1377,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If fingerprint login and Windows Hello are not working on your HP PC running Windows 10, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you fix it:
1. Check Windows Hello Settings
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
- Under Windows Hello Fingerprint, check if it says “This option is currently unavailable” or “Set up”.
- If it’s unavailable, continue with the steps below.
2. Update Biometric Drivers
- Press Windows + X > Device Manager.
- Expand Biometric Devices.
- Right-click your fingerprint sensor (e.g., Synaptics, Validity, Goodix) > Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
If it’s missing:
- Go to HP’s support site and download the fingerprint driver for your model.
3. Enable Biometric Devices in Group Policy
- Press Windows + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter.
- Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Biometrics
- Double-click Allow the use of biometrics > Set to Enabled.
- Also, enable Allow users to log on using biometrics.
4. Check Windows Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Find Windows Biometric Service.
- Make sure it’s running and set to Automatic.
5. Re-register Fingerprint
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
- Remove any existing fingerprints.
- Click Set up under Windows Hello Fingerprint and follow the prompts.
6. Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
