Hi  @king_boi

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I hear your concern about the  fingerprint reader issue and facial recognition is also not working, especially after attempting driver installations. Dont worry I'll be glad to help you with this.

Could you kindly confirm the below details :

  • The full model number of your HP PC/laptop (To find the serial number find the link here - Click here )
  • Did the fingerprint reader and facial recognition work previously, or is this the first time you are setting them up?
  • Are there any error messages shown in Windows Hello settings or Device Manager?

In the meantime, Kindly try the below steps and confirm :

  1. Open Device Manager and check under:
Biometric Devices, Cameras,Imaging Devices and Security Devices

Look for any devices with a yellow warning icon or listed as "Unknown Device."

2.Run Windows Update and install all available updates, including optional driver updates:

Settings -Windows Update -Check for updates.

3.Open Settings -Accounts -Sign-in options and:

Remove the existing fingerprint and facial recognition profiles (if present).

Restart the PC.

Set up Windows Hello Fingerprint and Face again

4.Please check if the fingerprint sensor and IR camera are detected in the BIOS:

Restart the PC and press F10 to enter BIOS.

Verify whether the biometric device options are enabled.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
