Welcome to the HP English Community --

If the Device Manager does not detect the Biometrics devices

Then

As far as the computer is aware, there is no fingerprint reader hardware installed in the computer.

True -- On systems where there is no fingerprint reader hardware, there might be a same-colored cover plate located where the fingerprint sensor would have been installed inside the case.

Read the service manual for your computer -- if the fingerprint reader is an optional purchase for the series, there will likely be a comment in the guide that indicates support for the fingerprint reader on "Select systems only".

For systems where the option is available, you can purchase and install the fingerprint reader hardware.

Read the service guide - search for entries including "fingerprint".
