Hi @AbulTech

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for reaching out. I understand you are unable to use the fingerprint reader on your HP ZBook Power G7 Mobile Workstation after upgrading to Windows 11 Pro version 26H2. We will be glad to help.

Since newer Windows builds can sometimes affect biometric device recognition, please try the following steps:

Open Device Manager and expand Biometric Devices.

  • If the fingerprint reader appears with a warning icon, right-click it and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart the workstation and allow Windows to reinstall the device.

Download and install the latest drivers available for your HP ZBook Power G7 from the HP support page:

Check BIOS settings:

  • Restart the PC and enter BIOS Setup.
  • Verify that Fingerprint Device or Biometric Security is enabled.
  • Save changes and restart.

Reconfigure Windows Hello:

  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
  • Remove the existing fingerprint profile if available.
  • Restart the PC and set up Windows Hello Fingerprint again.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Launch HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI and test the fingerprint reader if the option is available.

If the fingerprint reader does not appear under Biometric Devices in Device Manager after completing these steps, Windows 11 version 26H2 may not currently be detecting the sensor correctly. In that case, please check whether the device appears under Unknown devices or Human Interface Devices and install all available HP chipset and driver updates from the HP support page.

Please let us know the Device Manager status of the fingerprint reader after trying these steps, and we will be happy to guide you further.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
