pavillionx360 serial No.6CF4375XCQ LAST UPDATED IN June 2019 no new software added recently but issue of folders deleting themselves began after someone put in a flash disk from unknown source,could this be a virus,kindly advice community.

Yes, it COULD be a virus -- since have absolutely no way of determining, nor do you, what that flash disk did to your PC.

 

To safely reset your PC, you would have to do a factory reset -- which you do by pressing the Esc key repeatedly while rebooting, and when the HP Startup Menu appears, select the option to do the Reset.

 

This will erase EVERYTHING from your PC and will take a couple of hours or more to finish.
