I am installing a new HD and have deleted all recovery options as they are junk, I bought a new w10 disk from newegg and a new HD. Can I just remove the old HD and install the new HD wtih the w10 disk without additional intel etc crap? or am I better off with the windows utility and install over the existing w7?  thanx folks!

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

As I understand you need assistance with installing a retail copy of windows on the new hard drive,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Is there any specific reason you want to replace the hard drive?

Also, Did you know that HP Does not support installation of retail copy of windows on the device?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to know:

If you don't use applications pre-installed for your ease, via the HP OEM version, you could always uninstall specific programs, that said, if you wish to install the windows 10 you purchased from newegg, you may do so at your own discretion as there could be issues with drivers among others.

If you need assistance with the same, here's an expert with suggestions that may help: Click here for steps.

(I know it's a different model, not the same as your device, however, it doesn't matter, as the same steps apply to all devices)
