i'd like to get bluetooth working. but it seems i've bumped into dead ends and no avail yet to get bluetooth working on windows 10 64-bit.
i tried both bluetooth drivers from the official product's driver page from hp "sp50180" & "sp52533"
driver page - http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv5-2100-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-serie...
i tried running both in compability mode for xp sp3 and windows 7 no avail, they didn't work
"sp52533" outputs the error "bluetooth hardware must be switched on to run this setup package" but the thing is that i've yet to see/find bluetooth under devices so i can enable it
"sp50180" outputs error "this app can't run on this pc" as i said before - i tried compability mode for both xp sp3 and windows 7. it did not work either
under c:\SWSetup\SP50180 there's "Inst.exe" and "BTW.msi"
both let me install the driver/software but it does not work, i still didn't find bluetooth under > devices in settings even after install/installed these
would really appreciate the solution/fix/workaround to resolve this to get my bluetooth going for windows 10 64-bit.
i don't want to revert back to windows 7 just to get bluetooth working. i just want to use my bluetooth speaker with my laptop.

Hi:
According to the product specs page for your notebook, it does not come with built in bluetooth networking.
If it did, that feature would have been listed along with the 802.11b/g/n WLAN wireless connectivity specification.
Then I looked up the model wireless network adapter your notebook has in the parts list...
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=XH004UA
It does not list a separate bluetooth module and the Atheros AR9285 802.11 b/g/n (1x1) WiFi adapter (Most of World) if that is the card you see listed under the network adapters device manager category, is not a combination wireless/bluetooth adapter.
So, I would say that you are getting the 'bluetooth hardware must be switched on' message because there is a complete absence of the bluetooth hardware, which according to all I have written, makes sense as to why you can't get the bluetooth to work.
