@Loctosos

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand, the keyboard is not functioning as expected,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

You could change the keyboard layout following steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04769561

If the issue persists, I would suggest you perform System Recovery following steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04758961#AbT5

(Recovery when Windows 10 does not start correctly)

Note: Back up your personal data and files.

Let me know how that pans out

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask any other queries as well,

Considering, this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

Hi
I bought this laptop brand new 2 days ago and it functioned like this out of the box, i updated windows 10 to the latest update and it continued this behavior so i doubt system recovery will help.

so basically

When was the last time it worked fine?:
never

Were there any hardware/software changes made?:

no

i assume this might be a BIOS problem since the greater than sign button placement on the nordic keylayout takes place of the american CTRL sign and the BIOS thinks that this is a american keyboard instead of an nordic one

Thanks for the information,

Which country did you buy this notebook?

Do you have CTRL key on the keyboard?

What happens when you press the CTRL key on the keyboard?

Let me know,

Cheers!
