ok this morning i turn on my new pc laptop and again the cpu from task mgr. has my touchpoint Analitics client at 62 % cpu's. Why is this happeneing?

from time to time task mgr is running high when i hear the fan so i look to see what the heck is causing it and the last 2 days was the first time that touchpoint analitics client is high? I haven't even checked what touchpoint does yet. I haven't made any changes to my new pc since owning it in Nov.  even though the hard drive is solid state, i don't want it becoming weakened.  I don't like it when this fan is running like it is.

i have a flat surface, nothing obstructing the vent holes. HOpe someone can enlightin me on this. thanks

Hi grizzly5,

Not trying to degrade HP's image or say something against them but I'm pretty sure they installed telemetry clients without the users' permission which the program explicitly states that it "harvests telemetry information that is used by HP Touchpoint’s analytical services." I immediately uninstalled the program after I read a few news articles about them.

A hot topic about this program on the HP Support Forums: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Software-and-How-To-Questions/I-Didn-t-Install-HP-TouchpointAn...

A news article about the program: https://www.computerworld.com/article/3238512/microsoft-windows/hp-stealthily-installs-new-spyware-c...

Steps to uninstalling the program:

  1. Use Windows-R to load the run box.
  2. Type appwiz.cpl to load the Programs and Features control panel applet.
  3. Locate HP Touchpoint Manager.
  4. Right-click the program name, and select Uninstall to remove it.
