The HPWarrantyCheck task kept on running continuously consuming 30%+ of the CPU. When I ended the task, it came back soon after.
How do I uninstall this program? Do I need to uninstall the HP Support Assistant in order to rid of this program? Or can I just delete the HPWarrantyCheck.exe file?

Hi @AK209
Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
I understand that you would like to uninstall the HP Warranty Checker.
Unfortunately, you will have to uninstall the HP Support Assistant if you want to remove the HP Warranty Check.
You can refer to this Link to improve Slow Performance issues.
Thank you.

Hi @AK209
Just deleting the HP Warranty Check exe file might cause HPSA to malfunction since the HP Warranty Check exe file is part of the HPSA software. You can try it but if it causes any issues with HPSA then you need to uninstall the HPSA completely.
Thank you. 🙂

Thanks.
As feedback to the HPSA team ... it would be good to allow users to customize the HPSA functionalities, like in this case, disable warranty check when it is running wild for no reason. Now, users have to consider disabling all HPSA functions just because of one "bad" feature, especially the feature is not that beneficial to some users.

Hi @AK209
You can try uninstalling the HP Warranty Checker Exe. file, but as informed earlier we cannot guarantee that it will not cause HPSA to malfunction periodically. But we appreciate your Feedback.
HPWarrantyChecker.exe is usually located in the 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Framework\Resources\HPWarrantyCheck\' folder.
Thank you.
