Previously I have taken backup of my all drivers by [code]dism /online /export-driver /destination:C:\drivers-backup[/code]

They were working fine in Windows 10 Home Edition.

I now thought I should upgrade things to latest drivers.So I downloaded every thing from HP website.

My laptop has device drivers available here

But when I try to install them then in a couple of cases I get message it is not compatible with device.

Welcome !

If you perform fresh clean Windows installation, most drivers (if not all) will be installed for you automatically via Windows Update mechanism.

If your Windows is already installed (not a new installation) and if you believe you should update something, you can use HP Support Assistant which will get specific information for your device and supply drivers/BIOS for your model. Here is more information:

You do not need to manually hunt for driver updates.

Note that if you HP or Microsoft believe there is an urgent/critical update for your machine (including BIOS/driver update), this will automatically get pushed to your device via the regular Windows Update mechanism.

I posted the above question for increasing my knowledge. I have 5-6 HP laptops with me and they have Windows 7,Windows 8, Windows XP and Windows 10. I keep formatting the systems clean installations. So I wanted to know for future the process of downloading device driver and installing. Immediately after a fresh install I have restored drivers from a backup. So this had worked. The reason I posted the question is I wanted to help people who are in my friend circle various devices and drivers on HP devices so I just wanted to get myself familiarized with the process of identifying correct driver from the download section which gives a lot of drivers.

Also I have a problem I had to create new account on hp forum koid32 I could not login with the previous user name koidera 

I have same email associated with at least 3 usernames on HP forum. When ever I try to login to reply original question It says the account does not exist so I had to create this new account.

• For Windows 10 -> If you perform fresh clean Windows installation, most drivers (if not all) will be installed for you automatically via Windows Update mechanism.
• For anything specific you may be missing, it should be manually downloaded/taken from support.hp.com -> Drivers download section
• Business class devices (commercial devices) have even better mechanism to download and install drivers , known as HP app HP Image Assistant >> https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05820785
• Windows 7 and 8 -> you may need to manually download the drivers from support.hp.com -> Drivers download section

Best recovery option in my opinion in the system image methods (creation/recovery). Windows nowadays have this methods. It creates an exact copy of your entire drive/partitions and restores them the way it was from the time of back up. This means all - files, settings, registry, data, etc... everything. You need an external HDD to store the image on. More info can be found here
