What is the best way to transfer my files from my old Pavillion to my new Envy.

I always keep my files and data on external HDD's or on my home NAS therefore I don't need to use those methods. For example: I keep many information, manuals of HP machines on SD card, once a year I simply move SD card from old machine to new machine before perform factory settings old machine for donation.
