Hi @yattaourti
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
On most standard keyboards, including those on HP laptops, you can type the less than (<) and greater than (>) symbols using the "Shift" key along with the comma (,) and period (.) keys, respectively. Here's how you can do it:
Less Than (<):
- Press and hold the "Shift" key.
- Press the "," (comma) key.
Greater Than (>):
- Press and hold the "Shift" key.
- Press the "." (period) key.
If you're still having trouble typing these symbols on your HP Spectre x360, it's possible that there might be some keyboard layout settings or other configurations that need adjustment. Since you're using Ubuntu, here are some additional steps you can try:
Check Keyboard Layout:
- Open the Settings application.
- Go to "Region & Language" or a similar option.
- Make sure your keyboard layout is set correctly. For English keyboards, it's usually "English (US)".
Test the Keys:
- Open a text editor or any application where you can type.
- Try pressing the "," key for less than (<) and "." key for greater than (>).
Keyboard Shortcuts:
- Sometimes, certain applications or desktop environments may have specific keyboard shortcuts. Check the documentation for your desktop environment or the specific application you're using.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
