My charger broke then I managed to fix it again...but not it is not charging my battery..My battery stays on 3%..the battery saver doesn't appear anymore..I even tried a different charger but it still doesn't charge my battery..I thought that it was the battery but it was working fine 2hours before that. When plugged in it just says plugged in does not give me info as to how long until fully charged as before....What do I do?

Hi @Bobbiez1Zn,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Did it happen after a recent software update?
Does the laptop shut down right away if the charger is disconnected from the laptop?
Have you tried to use a different compatible charger and check if it helps?
Did this happen after a power surge or power outage?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Perform a Hard reset on the notebook: A power reset (or hard restart) clears all information from the computer's memory without erasing any personal data. Performing a power reset might fix conditions such as Windows not responding, a blank display, software freezing, keyboard stops responding, or other external devices locking up.
Resetting the Bios to Defaults:
Resetting the defaults in the BIOS returns the BIOS to the factory settings that your notebook was shipped with.
To reset the BIOS defaults, follow the steps below.
- Press the power button to turn on the notebook and repeatedly press f10 to enter the BIOS setup.
- Navigate through the BIOS and select the option to restore the BIOS defaults. The option will be called Restore Defaults or Setup Defaults, or something similar.
- Confirm that you want to restore the BIOS defaults, and then select the option to save and exit the BIOS setup.
- Once the computer reboots, please check if the battery gets detected.
I would suggest here is to update the Bios, and Chipset drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
Please follow the steps to uninstall Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control from Device manager:
- Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
- Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
- Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,
- Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer to this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
Battery Does not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge
HP Notebook PCs - Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 10) (Skip the steps if you have already performed).
Next thing, I would suggest here is to run the test on the battery from F2. (Click on Component test - Scroll down to Power)
Please remember to capture the failure ID for further assistance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
