Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

hi, ive got a hp 250 g6 loke it.. installed windows 7 as i cant live with 10 at all.. got everything working except the brightness buttons on the f2 n f3.. all the other buttons work for sound just theey dont.. and ofcoaurse windows 7 isnt supported.. can anybody help

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try modifying the W10 graphics driver to work on W7.

 

You can first try exactly what BruceBTS did, and even use the same graphics driver file.

Hi:

 

What model Intel processor does your notebook come with?  6th gen core, 7th gen core, Celeron, Pentium?

 

There are only W10 graphics drivers for any PC (no matter who makes it) with the Intel 7th gen core processors.

it is a core i5 7th gen... i dont understand how everything else is working but not the screen brightness?? is there no third party driver or anything to help with this ?

Glad the mod worked.

 

Remember to be aware of some W7 update that Microsoft snuck in there that addresses the driver workaround.

 

See his last comment about that on that link I posted.

 

'Just an update to this thread. Microsoft released a windows update that will nag you that your video driver is no longer compatible. Only way around it is to system restore and hide the update or upgrade to Windows 10.'

yes i had to roll it back a couple and then ive dissabled the windows update service on startup in msc config so no one else can accidentaly do.. your a star, thank you for your time and help
