Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to upgrade the bios in my hp dv9334 us. I recently wiped the hard drive and installed Windows 10 pro, but my screen is still showing black and when I connect it to another screen it only displays in lowest quality!

It's probably not a good idea to try and update the BIOS using an unsupported operating system.

The BIOS updates were written to be run on Windows XP and Windows Vista only.

Before you attempt to update the BIOS, see if manually installing the Vista Nvidia graphics driver resolves the problem:

This reputable 3rd party driver website has the drivers you need for your notebook:

Nvidia graphics:

HP Pavilion dv9334us NVIDIA GeForce Series Video Driver v.7.15.11.7713 for Windows Vista (32/64-bit)...

When you run the driver, it will most likely report an unsupported operating system error.

Close out of any error Windows.

Go to the device manager.  Click to expand the Display adapters device manager category.

Click on the Nvidia graphics adapter listed there.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder should be located in C:\SWSetup\sp42635.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

If you want to take the risk of updating the BIOS, then here is the last BIOS update HP released for the notebook:

FWIW, I doubt that updating the BIOS will fix the problem.
