Hi:

 

HP retired support for your PC since it is more than 10 years old.

 

If your notebook has an Intel processor and chipset, the BIOS update from this reputable 3rd party driver website dv5-1198eg model should also work on yours.

 

Note that the BIOS update was written to be run on Windows Vista, so update the BIOS if you are using a different operating system at your own risk.
