Hi @sb3259,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand that your HP Pavilion x360 2-in-1 laptop running Windows 11 is unable to pair with the HP MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen that came with your device. We're here to help you resolve this connectivity issue.

1. Confirm Compatibility

Your HP Pavilion x360 is designed to support Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP), including MPP 2.0. Please ensure you're using the original pen that was bundled with the device and not a different stylus.

2. Check Pen Power and Battery

  • Make sure the pen has a fresh battery (usually AAAA or rechargeable, depending on the model).
  • If rechargeable, connect it via USB-C to charge fully before attempting pairing.

3. Enable Bluetooth and Pair the Pen

While MPP pens typically don’t need Bluetooth to write or draw, Bluetooth is used for additional functions like shortcut buttons or app launching.

To pair via Bluetooth:

  1. On your laptop, go to SettingsBluetooth & devices.
  2. Turn Bluetooth ON.
  3. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the pen for 3-5 seconds until the LED light starts blinking.
  4. On your laptop, click Add deviceBluetooth and select the pen from the list.

🔍 If the pen doesn’t appear, try turning Bluetooth off and back on, and move the pen closer to the screen.

4. Test Pen Input (Ink Functionality)

Even if Bluetooth pairing fails, the pen should still be usable for writing on the screen:

  • Open OneNote, Whiteboard, or Paint.
  • Try drawing on the screen.

If the pen doesn’t respond at all, continue below.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
