pavillion 17-f230ca
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have found many posts from users with windows 8 or 10 who have downgraded back to windows 7 but encountered issues with missing drivers. I have done this myself many times but am currently unable to find the proper drivers for the 17-f230ca notebook. Currently have windows 7 installed but usb ports will not work however cd drive does and obviously no network card drivers.

Have tried all of the windows 8.1 and 10 drivers listed for this notebook on the HP support page but none have worked.

anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Mitch

Hi, Mitch:

You should be able to use the W7 x64 drivers and software from the 17t-f000 on your model except the BIOS and firmware files.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-17-f000-Notebook-PC-series/6936220/model...

Your model uses the Broadcom wireless and bluetooth drivers of which only the bluetooth driver is listed on that support page.

Here is the link to the wlan driver...

The package contains the Broadcom wireless LAN drivers and utility that are required to enable the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN Adapter in supported notebooks that are running a supported operating system.

Hello again paul,

I have managed to get everything working with the exception of the usb ports. I have tried all the drivers listed and none seem to work.

When a usb flash drive is connected, nothing seems to come up and the light on the flashdrive is off. If i leave the flashdrive in while rebooting, it will light up during the reboot process so it seems like the usb drive works.

Hoping you can help me with one last issue.

Thanks again

Mitch

Hi, Mitch:

I think the USB3 driver directly from Intel should work just fine.

Download, unzip and run the setup application from the link below...
