Product: ProBook 4720s
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

so i have a hp laptop that came with windows 7 so it has the old hp software. i upgraded it to windows 10 and now the hp assistant thing looks weird with windows 10. is there a way to update the software or just fully delete it?

You can update the HPSA software to the latest version by clicking on the orange download button at the upper right side of the webpage.
