Hi @pashh,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
It appears that your HP Victus laptop might not have RGB lighting, which would explain why you can't change the keyboard backlight color even though you can turn it on using the F4 key. Many HP Victus models are equipped with a single-color backlit keyboard (usually white) that only allows you to adjust the brightness or turn the light on and off, not change the color.
Here are some steps to confirm and further troubleshoot:
1. Check Keyboard Specifications
- Verify the specific model of your HP Victus laptop to confirm whether it supports RGB or single-color backlighting. You can find this information in the product documentation or on the HP website.
2. Using OMEN Gaming Hub
- Open OMEN Gaming Hub: Go to the OMEN Gaming Hub app.
- If your laptop supports RGB, there should be a “Lighting” section. This is typically where color changes are made.
- If you don’t see this option, it usually means that your laptop only supports a single-color backlight.
3. Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub
- Sometimes, reinstalling the OMEN Gaming Hub might help in detecting the correct hardware.
- Uninstall the OMEN Gaming Hub and then download and reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.
4. Update Drivers and Firmware
- Make sure that your system BIOS and all related drivers (keyboard and firmware) are up-to-date. Updates can sometimes add or fix functionality.
5. Check for Software Conflicts
- If other lighting or peripheral control software is installed, it might conflict with the OMEN Gaming Hub. Try disabling or uninstalling such software.
If you believe your model should support RGB lighting and it still doesn’t show options in OMEN Gaming Hub, contact HP Phone Support. They will help you via remote assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
