Depending on your notebook's exact Model, you should be able to use this Validity Driver:
sp58900 Validity Sensor V4.4.234.0 W8-W8.1
It is impossible to know which version of SimplePass you were using -- depending on what you were using before, one of these will work for you:
Series 6 (AuthenTec)
sp63224 HP SimplePass V6.0.100.276 Win7-8
Series 8 (Softex)
sp71729 HP SimplePass V8.01.46A W7-W10 32/64bit
Understand that Series 8 is NOT a newer version of Series 6 -- these are two completely separate programs and they are not compatible. Choose one or the other. If you choose wrong (in your opinion), you can remove the "wrong" program > reboot > install the other Series.
You do need to have installed the other HP Drivers for Windows 10 -- you want to have your HP Drivers installed, THEN you attempt to deal with Native Windows 10 fingerprint logon, THEN you attempt to deal with SimplePass.
GENERAL instructions:
- Create a Restore Point
- Update your HP Drivers to Windows 10 versions of the HP Drivers
- Ensure Windows Update is current (unless you have "deferred" updates, updates are automatic)
- Set up Windows 10 fingerprint logon (including the PIN number)
- Reboot and log in
- Install the Validity Driver
- Reboot and log in
- Install your choice of SimplePass
- Reboot and log in

You are welcome.
A final word about that Validity Driver (fingerprint software driver):
I did have difficulty finding what I believe is the correct driver for your system (none was listed at your computer's support website) -- the driver I provided is for a similar system type to your own computer.
In the event that you have a functional Recovery Manager, you might find your original Validity driver in the Manager under I need immediate help > reinstall applications / drivers (something similar
Windows 8.1 Recovery Manager is called Rebecca
