HP Stream - 14-cb172wm

i m having issues downloading any type of app on to me device. Every time i try it gives me an error msg that says "virus scan failed" HELP

That error can be frustrating, but there are a few things you can try to resolve it:

 

Check Your Antivirus Settings

  • If you’re using Windows Defender, open Windows SecurityVirus & threat protectionManage settings.
  • Temporarily disable Real-time protection and try downloading again.

Clear Your Browser Cache

  • If you’re using Microsoft Edge, go to Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data.
  • Select Cached images and files and Cookies and other site data, then click Clear now.

Try a Different Browser

  • If Edge is blocking downloads, try using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to see if the issue persists.

Disable Windows S Mode (If Enabled)

  • Some HP Stream laptops come with Windows 11 in S Mode, which restricts app installations.
  • Go to Settings → System → About, and if S Mode is enabled, follow the steps to switch to standard Windows.

Run a Malware Scan

  • Open Windows SecurityVirus & threat protectionQuick scan to check for potential threats.
