That error can be frustrating, but there are a few things you can try to resolve it:
Check Your Antivirus Settings
- If you’re using Windows Defender, open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings.
- Temporarily disable Real-time protection and try downloading again.
Clear Your Browser Cache
- If you’re using Microsoft Edge, go to Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data.
- Select Cached images and files and Cookies and other site data, then click Clear now.
Try a Different Browser
- If Edge is blocking downloads, try using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to see if the issue persists.
Disable Windows S Mode (If Enabled)
- Some HP Stream laptops come with Windows 11 in S Mode, which restricts app installations.
- Go to Settings → System → About, and if S Mode is enabled, follow the steps to switch to standard Windows.
Run a Malware Scan
- Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Quick scan to check for potential threats.
