Hi @Vishnu_atman,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for sharing your model: HP ENVY x360 13.3" 2-in-1 Laptop PC 13-bf0000. If your camera seems to malfunction but Windows Hello (Face ID) still works, it suggests that:

  • The infrared (IR) camera used for facial recognition is working.
  • The RGB (regular) camera used for video calls or apps like Zoom/Teams might be having issues.

1. Check Camera Privacy Settings

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
  • Make sure Camera access is turned on for both the system and apps.

2. Check Device Manager

  • Press Win + X > Device Manager.
  • Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  • You should see two entries:
    • HP Wide Vision HD Camera (RGB)
    • IR Camera (used for Face ID)
  • If the RGB camera has a yellow warning or is missing:
    • Right-click > Uninstall device.
    • Restart your laptop to reinstall it.

3. Update or Reinstall Camera Drivers

4. Test Camera in Camera App

  • Open the Camera app from the Start menu.
  • If it shows a black screen or error, try switching between cameras using the camera switch icon (if available).

5. BIOS and Firmware Update

  • From the same HP driver page, install the latest BIOS and firmware updates.
  • These can resolve hardware detection issues.

6. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart your laptop and press the Esc key, then press F2.
  • Run the Camera Test under Component Tests.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
