As far as I know, Linux is the only operating system that has no built in advertising.   However, as soon as you connect to the internet you have "Opt In" 🤣

I can understand your concern. Some of the preinstalled HP utilities (like OMEN Gaming Hub or HP Smart) may show promotional content or suggested services. These aren't advertisements in the traditional sense, but I agree they can feel intrusive.

 

The good news is that you aren’t required to use them. You can:

 

  • Uninstall the utility via Settings > Apps if you don't need/want it.

  • Or, if you'd like to keep the features but reduce pop-ups, check the app's settings to disable notifications.

 

None of these utilities are critical to Windows or system stability -they’re optional add-ons.

 

If you prefer a "clean" experience, you can safely remove them and still keep your system fully functional.
