Hi @nicole_06

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP laptop is blocking video downloads due to an unsupported setting. This could be related to browser restrictions, security settings, or file compatibility issues.

Here are a few things to try:

1. Check Browser Settings

  • If you're using Google Chrome, try switching to Microsoft Edge or Firefox and attempt the download again.
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies (Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Browsing Data).

2. Use Google Drive’s Alternative Download Method

  • Open Google Drive in your browser.
  • Right-click the video file → Download.
  • If the download option isn’t available, try using the Google Drive app instead.

3. Messenger Video Download Workaround

  • If Messenger doesn’t allow direct downloads, try screen recording using Windows’ built-in Xbox Game Bar (Win + G).
  • Alternatively, check if the video is available for download via the Facebook website instead of the Messenger app.

4. Disable Security Restrictions

  • Go to Windows Security → App & Browser Control and check if any settings are blocking downloads.
  • If you have third-party antivirus software, temporarily disable it and try downloading again.

Let me know if you need more guidance!
