I have two HP laptops. One for work and one is my personal laptop. In setting up my new office I've lost track of which laptop charger goes with which laptop. Does it matter. Do I need to use the original laptop charger?

Hi:

 

Enter the serial number of each notebook in the search window at the link below and it will provide the charger part number.

 

HP PartSurfer

 

You can compare the charger part numbers with the ones you have.

 

Since you provided absolutely no information on what model notebooks you have, it would be impossible to let you know if you could use either charger in either notebook.

 

It usually depends on how many watts the notebook needs to run off the charger and if the connector jack fits in the notebook's charging port.
