So I downloaded the update exe (30.100.1841.2 Rev.A)

However, it sits doing nothing & I notice the trackpad & touchscreen are unresponsive

After about 10mins it says "fail" / but trackpad & touchscreen remain unsreponsive

Using keyboard & select a restart - this takes another 10mins &  BSOD

Any ideas?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  •  I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8.

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?

Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

Hello -

I have now received a replacement laptop (/ am this laptop does not have a h/w problem & is working fine)

However.

The Serial IO update problem I still have - the update will not install.

1/ Using HP Assist - the update runs but fails (and causes laptop to BSOD)

2/ If I down load sofpaq SP95257 / then say happens as above - tried running (right click run as Administrator) & same

3/ I tried 'Device Manger' and locating the device and also fails with pnp process failed & then BSOD

-

So, how do I install this update & what is causing such a major issue with an update pushed to my device?

Thanks.
